Prints - Autumn

For me, Autumn marks the year's beginning in Central Europe. The festivals are winding down, kids are going back to school and the crisper air means it's time to start exercising again. It is also a time when many migratory species begin their movement across the continent to warmer climes. Animals born in the spring are fortifying themselves, preparing for their first of many long winters.

I was inspired to paint this collection during a late October raft trip down the Elb with my friend Julian in 2021. As leaves cover the ground and the first snow falls, the same pallets of colours can be often found both in the top and bottom of a scene. This is great for painters wishing to frame their subjects without distracting from them.
